The Milford community is mourning the profound loss of a true local hero, Firefighter and EMT Valentin “Vali” Hunsicker, whose passing has left an enduring ache in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched through his service. Vali was more than a first responder—he was a protector, a teammate, and a steady source of strength for a community that relied on him in its most vulnerable moments.
Vali dedicated his life to helping others, answering the call whenever duty demanded it. As a firefighter and EMT, he embodied courage, compassion, and selflessness. Whether responding to emergencies, offering comfort during crises, or supporting fellow first responders, Vali served with quiet humility and unwavering commitment. His work was not just a role—it was a calling, and he carried it out with integrity and heart.
To those who knew him personally, Vali was a loyal friend and a cherished family member. He brought warmth, humor, and camaraderie into every space he entered, especially within the firehouse he called a second home. His presence lifted others, and his dedication inspired those around him to serve with the same passion and care. His absence now leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy lives on through the countless lives he helped protect and save.
To honor Vali’s life and service, a gathering of remembrance will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, located at 405 W. Harford Street in Milford, on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., allowing family, friends, and community members the opportunity to pay their respects and share memories. A brief memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m., offering a moment of reflection and gratitude for a life devoted to service.
In a fitting tribute to a man who cherished brotherhood and community, the remembrance will then continue at the Milford Fire Department, 107 W. Catharine Street. All are invited to join Vali’s family, including Dave, for a buffet and a celebration of the many memories Vali created. This gathering reflects the sense of unity, fellowship, and mutual support that Vali valued so deeply within the firehouse and beyond.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Vali’s memory to the Milford Fire Department. Such contributions will honor his enduring legacy and support the mission he cared so deeply about—protecting and serving the residents of Milford, Pennsylvania.
Valentin “Vali” Hunsicker will be remembered for his bravery, his compassion, and his unwavering dedication to others. Though he may no longer walk among us, his courage and service will never be forgotten, and his spirit will continue to live on in the community he so faithfully served.
